After Treatment Suggestions

Patients can expect some muscles to begin to tension as the optimum achievable joint position is encouraged by the supporting nerve tissue activity. The body continuing to seek to heal joint tissue by recovering to the less stressful pre-injury joint positions that the balance and movement related aspects of the body had recorded for joint activity.

Nerve reaction from joint tissue sensitivity, initiated for you in treatment, often remains active for up to 48 hours. A firm muscle ache over the back may occur during this period. Do not try to ease this muscular tension with exercise or by stretching. Relief may be obtained by having a warm bath or shower. Please make sure that the water covers from the crown of the head, down the back, for about fifteen minutes so as to obtain maximum effective relief.

Hard or deep massage within 48 hours of a treatment is not recommended. If you continue to wear shoes that have a grossly uneven wear pattern you can expect the body's bones, and therefore joints, to remain in their old positions. The footwear will be acting as a mould to continue the old bone and joint alignments (Resole or renew unevenly worn shoes).

Orthotic-like padding that has been placed in a shoe, to temporarily ease back pain or joint pain by changing the way you stand or walk, may result in abnormal wear patterns within the other body joints if you maintain this externally varied position long enough. This can cause new painful joint situations to present in different areas after a very short period, as otherwise good joints start to stress and wear upon joint tissue faster than normal.

After about three days the body begins to settle into the less stressful joint positions, so take it easy. Following a treatment you may feel greatly reduced symptoms and therefore you might feel fit enough to be more active, but with less stress on the joint tissues, they are now just starting to heal efficiently.
